Live on EWTN - The Global Catholic Network. On October 7th in Rome, Pope John Paul II will lead a torch light rosary procession with the statue of Our Lady from Fatima. He is asking all parishes to organize a procession or at least an evening rosary for the intention of consecrating the world, the church, and the new millennium to the Immaculate Heart... At 8:00 PM (Rome Time) [12:00 P.M. EST] on Oct. 7th in St. Peters - the Holy Father, with thousands of bishops, will lead a World Rosary - before this same statue that will have arrived from Fatima the night before (that carries in its crown the bullet that was intended to kill him). It will be broadcast on television. The following day, October 8th, with these bishops surrounding this same statue from Fatima, the Pope will officially entrust the world and the entire third Millennium to Mary! From what we know now, in all it's simplicity, this may turn out to have been the most important event of the Great Jubilee...
On October 8th - the Jubilee of Bishops, the Pope will reconsecrate the world, the church, and the 3rd millennium to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. ... The triumphant victory of the Immaculate Heart of Mary is soon to be fulfilled... universal consecration and conversion, along with the Pope, the Magisterium, cardinals and bishops which will come to a climax on October 7 and 8 in Rome. VATICAN CITY, SEPT. 28, 2000 (ZENIT.org).- John Paul II will preside over the recitation of the World Rosary on Oct. 7 from St. Peter's Square. An e-mail may be sent to: rosario@churchforum.org This is an initiative that began in Mexico in 1996, observed on the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. Cities around the world quickly joined in this annual event. At last count, 100 countries participated. This year, the recitation of the rosary in Mexico will be held in the Basilica of Guadalupe, presided over by Cardinal Norberto Rivera Carrera, archbishop of Mexico City. The rosary led by the Holy Father at 8 p.m., Rome time, will be broadcast on television. The organizers of the initiative, a group of Mexican lay people, are encouraging dioceses, parishes, and movements to join in the prayer by quoting the Pope: "God will not fail to bless the family that prays united in the name of his Son, our Lord Jesus Christ." Medjugorje, August 1991: "I invite you to renunciation for nine days so that with your help, everything I wanted to realize through the secrets I began in Fatima may be fulfilled," ... Archbishop Sepe, Secretary General of the Vatican Jubilee Committee, commented that he thought the presence of the statue of Our Lady of Fatima in St. Peter's and the Entrustment Ceremony "will be one of the most moving Marian events of the whole Jubilee." Let Us Unite On October 7th and October 8th, 2000 "To petition the Immaculate Heart of our Mother for the healing of our families throughout our broken world." On October 7th, Our Blessed Mother's feast day (Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary), let us organize candlelight rosary processions throughout the world, uniting our prayers with those of our Holy Father and Bishops. Let us storm Heaven with the powerful prayer of the Most Holy Rosary. On October 8th, while Our Holy Father and Bishops are entrusting the world and the third millennium to the protection of Our Blessed Mother, let us, the lay faithful of the world, unite and consecrate our precious families to the protection of Our Immaculate Mother. Let us petition her powerful intercession for the healing of our families, our elderly, our youth, and all of our little children throughout the world who have been wounded by so much sin.
