On October 7th in Rome, Pope John Paul II will lead a torch light rosary procession with the statue of Our Lady from Fatima. He is asking all parishes to organize a procession or at least an evening rosary for the intention of consecrating the world, the church, and the new millennium to the Immaculate Heart...

At 8:00 PM (Rome Time) [12:00 P.M. EST] on Oct. 7th in St. Peters - the Holy Father, with thousands of bishops, will lead a World Rosary - before this same statue that will have arrived from Fatima the night before (that carries in its crown the bullet that was intended to kill him). It will be broadcast on television.

The following day, October 8th, with these bishops surrounding this same statue from Fatima, the Pope will officially entrust the world and the entire third Millennium to Mary! From what we know now, in all it's simplicity, this may turn out to have been the most important event of the Great Jubilee...
On October 8th - the Jubilee of Bishops, the Pope will reconsecrate the world, the church, and the 3rd millennium to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. ... The triumphant victory of the Immaculate Heart of Mary is soon to be fulfilled... universal consecration and conversion, along with the Pope, the Magisterium, cardinals and bishops which will come to a climax on October 7 and 8 in Rome.

Since the period in which we are living is crucial, and we are into the period promised by our Lady at Fatima of the triumph of her Immaculate Heart, we are asked to make sacrifices through fasting and prayer of the five Mysteries of the Rosary and to look to our Holy Father, Pope John Paul, II, who is a "sign of our time" for guidance as outlined ...... here. The accomplishment of our Lady's objective in attaining the necessary graces for peace and unity is based on heartfelt charity and humility involving sacrifice which is nurtured by prayer; especially sacrifice through suffering and self-giving in union with the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, through the Eucharist which is most pleasing to God the Father for the appeasement of sins. The accomplishment of our Lady's triumph will be the single most important victory in the history of salvation and therefore, should be taken very seriously ...

Our Lady who comes to bring us messages of peace and hope wishes to save us from eternal damnation, and the accomplishment of eternal bliss in heaven with the Holy Trinity - Father, Son, and her Spouse, the Holy Spirit who is the giver of life...

She beseeches us, therefore, to pray, pray, pray, fervently from the heart... the Joyful Mysteries, the Sorrowful Mysteries, and the Glorious Mysteries of the life, birth and death of her Son, coupled with fasting and abstinence, is most effective in appeasing the wrath of our merciful Father in heaven, who beholds the world engulfed in sin - especially the sin of abortion and the sacrifice of the lives of the innocents whose plan and purpose for whom He intended are being denied them...

This is an initiative that began in Mexico in 1996, observed on the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. Cities around the world quickly joined in this annual event. At last count, 100 countries participated. This year, the recitation of the rosary in Mexico will be held in the Basilica of Guadalupe, presided over by Cardinal Norberto Rivera Carrera, archbishop of Mexico City. The rosary led by the Holy Father at 8 p.m., Rome time, will be broadcast on television. The organizers of the initiative, a group of Mexican lay people, are encouraging dioceses, parishes, and movements to join in the prayer by quoting the Pope: "God will not fail to bless the family that prays united in the name of his Son, our Lord Jesus Christ."

On the feast of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, Our Holy Father will unite with his brother Bishops from around the world who will be in Rome for the Bishops Jubilee. Together they will participate in the recitation of the Most Holy Rosary during a torchlight procession in Our Blessed Mother's honor.

"October 8th, 2000"

Our Holy Father will entrust the World and the Third Millennium to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The statue of Our Lady of Fatima from the Chapel of Apparitions, Fatima, Portugal, will be brought to St. Peter's Basilica in Rome for this special event. Bishops from around the world who are in Rome for the Bishops Jubilee will participate in the Entrustment Ceremony ... Archbishop Sepe, Secretary General of the Vatican Jubilee Committee, commented that he thought the presence of the statue of Our Lady of Fatima in St. Peter's and the Entrustment Ceremony "will be one of the most moving Marian events of the whole Jubilee."

Let Us Unite On October 7th and October 8th, 2000 "To petition the Immaculate Heart of our Mother for the healing of our families throughout our broken world."

On October 7th, Our Blessed Mother's feast day (Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary), let us organize candlelight rosary processions throughout the world, uniting our prayers with those of our Holy Father and Bishops. Let us storm Heaven with the powerful prayer of the Most Holy Rosary.

On October 8th, while Our Holy Father and Bishops are entrusting the world and the third millennium to the protection of Our Blessed Mother, let us, the lay faithful of the world, unite and consecrate our precious families to the protection of Our Immaculate Mother. Let us petition her powerful intercession for the healing of our families, our elderly, our youth, and all of our little children throughout the world who have been wounded by so much sin.

Children of Mary

Let us unite worldwide with Our Holy Father and our Bishops during these two powerful days of prayer. Let us gather in our archdioceses, our parishes, and in our homes. Let us reach out to our brothers and sisters in prisons, hospitals and nursing homes, etc. If possible, gather all the little children before the Blessed Sacrament and pray with them; forget no one. This is our mission.

Light a Candle

Together, let us curse the darkness of our world. We can go forward with great courage and hope, petitioning the Immaculate Heart of our Mother to heal the broken hearts of our families throughout the world. Are our families worth fighting for? Yes! Let's show this unbelieving world that there is a Heavenly Mother who has not given up on her children. Let's show this unbelieving world that the examples and the words of our greatest saints hold true today and always will - that it is through the Heart of the Mother that you will find the Heart of the Son.

Rome Awaits Pilgrimage of Image of Virgin Of Fatima: September 13th, 2000

The image of the Virgin of Fatima will be in Rome from October 6 to 8, in the frame of the Jubilee of Bishops to take place in the Eternal City. This pilgrimage, the Communiqué says, "puts a Marian seal to all the Holy Year. The act of consecration to Mary, to take place on Sunday October 8 according to the Jubilee calendar, will thus have a especially significant character, almost as a coronation of the Great Jubilee" ... the Pope will preside Mass and the act of consecration to Mary, together with Prelates from all over the world...
