CONCERNING THE SECOND DEATH AND THE LAKE OF FIRE (To be read in conjunction with the Concerning the Book of Life and Salvation document) Once again, the Book of Revelation comes to the fore and we see that the Lake of Fire is mentioned only in this book — AWESOME! Christian now is the time! Like never before, plead with our beloved Holy Spirit to give you a burning desire to spend more, and more time in this THE BOOK OF ALL BOOKS! Rev 1:3 Blessed is the one who reads and hears the Words of this prophecy, and the ones keeping the things written in it, for the time is near. Rev 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet doing signs before it, (by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast), and those who had worshiped his image. The two were thrown alive into the Lake of Fire burning with brimstone. Rev 20:10 And the Devil who deceived them was cast into the Lake of Fire and Brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet were. And he will be tormented day and night forever and ever. Rev 20:11 And I saw a Great White Throne, and Him sitting on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And a place was not found for them. Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, the small and the great, stand before God. And books were opened, and another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged out of those things, which were written in the books, according to their works. Rev 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead in it. And death and hell delivered up the dead in them. And each one of them was judged according to their works. Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the Lake of Fire. This is the second death. Rev 20:15 And if anyone was not found having been written in the Book of Life, he was cast into the Lake of Fire. Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and the unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, will have their part in the lake burning with fire and brimstone, which is the second death = eternal separation from the Godhead. Second Death: Is physically the Lake of Fire and resultant eternal separation from the Godhead. The lake of Fire destination is the outcome of the Great White Throne Judgement, which takes place at the end of the millennial (1000 year) reign of Christ. Therefore, it is logical that a second death presupposes a first death. Arising from this rational — the question, when is, (or was) the first death? It is highly probable that the origin of the first death dates back to the Garden of Eden: Gen 2:16 And Jehovah God commanded the man, saying, You may freely eat of every tree in the garden, Gen 2:17 but you shall not eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. For in the day that you (Adam and by implication Eve) eat of it you shall surely die. Gen 2:15 And Jehovah God took the man and put him into the Garden of Eden to work it and keep it. Gen 2:16 And Jehovah God commanded the man, saying, You may freely eat of every tree in the garden, Gen 2:17 but you shall not eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. For in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die. Gen 3:11 And He said, Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree, which I commanded you that you should not eat? Gen 3:22 And Jehovah God said, Behold, the man has become as one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put forth his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever, Gen 3:24 And He drove out the man. And He placed cherubs at the east of the Garden of Eden, and a flaming sword, which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life. Summary: Adam and Eve were eternal (never ending fellowship with the Godhead) beings and lived in Paradise (Eden). Climatic conditions perfect — no need of clothing. No sin as they were unaware of their nakedness. They were destined to multiply and fill Paradise with all of those whose names were in the Book of Life (before the foundation of the earth). A supreme test of obedience to Abba. Through temptation —The Fall — disobedience and resultant separation from the Godhead — death! Consequence: Loss of eternal life (the day that you eat… you will die.). And as a result physical death entered into the world and was the progenitor of SIN — which became the order of the day. Thorns and thistles — live by the sweat of the brow! No hope of eternal life — that is, until the Seed comes (Gen 3:15). Gen 3:24 And He drove out the man. And He placed cherubs at the east of the Garden of Eden, and a flaming sword, which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life. Guard the way to the tree of life (eternal)… The implication is clear… Man not permitted to re-enter the Garden and partake of the tree of life. No possibility of eternal life until the Seed — the Author of Life comes and overcomes DEATH — once and for all. And through His acceptable sacrifice eternal fellowship with the Godhead is reinstated. Joh 11:25 Jesus said to her, I am the Resurrection and the Life! He who believes in Me, though he die, yet he shall live. Joh 11:26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this? Joh 11:27 She said to Him, Yes, Lord, I have believed that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who has come into the world. The flood totally destroyed the Garden of Eden and the fallen generations she spawned. Nevertheless, prior to the flood certain God seeking individuals were saved — Enoch, Abel, Seth, etc. Through OBEDIENCE, only EIGHT righteous ones survive the devastation of the flood! After the flood Abba enters into the Rainbow Covenant with Noah and his descendants. 1Pe 3:18 For Christ also once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, indeed being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the Spirit; 1Pe 3:19 in which also He went and preached to the spirits in prison, 1Pe 3:20 to disobeying ones, when once the long-suffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared (in which a few, that is, eight souls were saved through water); 1Pe 3:21 which figure now also saves us, baptism; not a putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ; 2Pe 2:5 And He did not spare the old world, but saved Noah the eighth one, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly. 2Pe 2:6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, He condemned them with an overthrow, setting an example to men intending to live ungodly. 2Pe 2:7 And He delivered righteous Lot, oppressed with the lustful behavior of the lawless. 2Pe 2:8 For that righteous one living among them, in seeing and hearing, his righteous soul was tormented from day to day with their unlawful deeds. 2Pe 2:9 The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation, and to reserve the unjust for a day of judgment, to be punished, 2Pe 2:10 and especially those who walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise dominion… Rev 22:2 In the midst of its street, and of the river, from here and from there, was the Tree of Life, which bore twelve fruits, each yielding its fruit according to one month… SECOND DEATH = eternal separation from Abba, His beloved Son, and His precious Holy Spirit through being cast alive into the lake burning with fire and brimstone for all eternity. © www.thefinalword.co.za Document may be freely copied and shared as long as no charge is levied.
